Homemade Tortillas


A tortilla is popular in Mexico and used for making tacos, burritos, enchiladas etc it is a thin flat bread made out of all purpose flour and very similar to our Indian flat bread which is made with wheat. we can make this at home and you will never want to use store bought tortillas once you start making it at home.

Ingredients:-

All purpose flour/Maida - 2 cups
Salt - 1/2 tsp
Water - 1 cup
Olive oil - 3 tbsp
Baking powder - 1/2 tsp

Method:-

Combine flour, baking powder, oil and salt in a mixing bowl. Slowly start adding water and knead to make a smooth dough. Let the dough rest for 15 minutes to ferment. Divide dough into small portions.then roll each portion into a circle using a rolling pin. Heat a non-stick skillet and cook tortillas over medium heat on each side or until lightly browned. cool and store them in refrigerator and heat them when required.

Note:-
we can store them in refrigerator for 3-4 days 

Cilantro Butter Corn

A simple Snack to munch in the lazy evenings with a cup of Cardamom Tea. You too try it out and let me the outcome.

Ingredients:

Sweet Corn - 1
Butter - 1 pack
Cilantro - 1 Handful

Method :-
Cook sweet corn in cooker with enough water. Meanwhile Melt the butter and chop up the cilantro into fine pieces Add it to the melted butter and let it all seep together for a while.then i took the cooked corn and i basted it with a cilantro butter with the basting brush and it tasted yum.

Apple Fingers


Ingredients:-
Apple - 1

Cornflour - 1 tsp
Icing Sugar - 1 tsp
Cinnamon powder - 1/4 tsp
Oil to deep fry

Method:-
Slice apple into thin pieces dust it with cornflour.Remove excess flour.Heat oil in a pan deep fry them.Drain excess oil.Mix sugar & cinnamon powder in a bowl.Sprinkle generously on both sides of apple while hot.Serve hot with fresh cream or dip...

Bengal gram fries

Ingredients :

Split Bengal gram -  1 Cup
Red Chilli Powder - 1 tsp
Salt to taste
Oil for deep fry
Method :

Soak dhal for 6 hours.Drain and dry the dhal on a cloth and set aside. Heat oil in and deep fry the dhal.Season with salt and chilli powder and serve...

Apple Nachos

Ingredients:

Apples - 4
Lemon - 2
Caramel sauce - 1 cup
Marshmallows - 30
Butter - 1/3 cup
Peanuts - 1/3 cup 
Raisins - 1/3 cup
Chocolate chips - 1/3 cup

Method:

Roast Peanuts and keep aside.Chop apples into thin slices,immediately dip them in lemon juice to avoid browning.Set aside.In a saucepan,melt marshmallows and butter over medium heat,stirring frequently.Remove and set aside.Arrange apple slices on a large platter. Drizzle with caramel, and then with the melted marshmallow mixture.  Sprinkle the roasted peanuts and chocolate chips and Serve hot...

Roasted Garlic peanuts

Ingredients :-

Peanuts : 1 cup
Garlic - 2 clove
Curry Leaves - 1 sprig
Red Chilli Powder - 1 tsp
Salt to taste
Oil - 1/2 tsp
Method :

Dry roast the peanuts and remove the husk and keep aside. Heat oil in a pan add curry leaves then add roasted peanuts, salt, crushed garlic and red chilli powder and fry for a minute. Turn off the flame and serve.
