Imartis

First time i had this dessert in hyderabad.It is one of the Famous Evening Street dessert there.when i saw this I Exclaimed "hey white Jilebi".My Cousin nodded his head agreeing with me.He too doesnt know its name at that time it seems...but he said, ' They serve it hot here.Yeah...They served it hot.It was yummy yummy.The juicy sugar syrup and crispy white jilebi's melted in my mouth.Wow...it was divine...
Later i got to know its name as IMARTIS...but i still call it as white jilebi...



Ingredients:

Dehusked Black Gram / Urad dhal - 2 cups
Rice Flour - 1/4 cup
Sugar - 2 cups
water - 1 cup
Cardamom powder - 1/2 tsp
A pinch of Saffron
Oil or Ghee for deep frying
Piping bag / cloth



Method:


Wash and soak the de husked black gram for 3 hours. Drain the water and grind it into very fine paste,using very little water.then add rice flour and mix well.

Fill a piping bag with this batter.Heat oil in a flat skillet.
Press the bag full of batter lightly over the hot oil and make small circles in it. Let it fry till the Imartis turn golden brown in color.
Make a sugar syrup of one thread consistency,then add the saffron and cardamom powder in the sugar syrup and mix it thoroughly and keep it aside.Dip the fried Imartis in the sugar syrup for 5-10 minutes and take them out and Serve Hot.
