Natal plum / Kalakai / Korando Pickle


Natal plum / Kalakai - 4 cups
Gingelly Oil - 100 ml
Fenugreek Seeds - 1/2 tsp
Mustard Seeds - 1 tbsp
Red Chilly powder - 5 tbsp
Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
Salt to taste


Wash the plums throughly and cut them into half and take out the seeds from it and keep aside.Heat oil in a wok, add fenugreek and mustard seeds allow it to splutter.Then add red chilly powder, turmeric powder and salt to it and mix well.Next add the Plums to it and saute in the oil till it becomes soft and completely cooked.Allow it to cool and store it in a bottle.

Make sure the oil covers the pickle and floats over the Top surface.
