Ragi Halwa

When i was wondering what to do with Ragi flour,one of my kannadiga friend told me about this Halwa.so i just tried my hand in it...which turned out to be a Delicious one...here it goes...


Ingredients:

Ragi Flour : 1/2 Cup
Water : 2.5 Cups
Grated Coconut : 1/4 Cup
Milk : 1/2 Cup
Jaggery : 1/2 Cup
Cardamom Powder : 1 Teaspoon
Ghee - 2 Teaspoons
Almonds - 10

Method:

Soak ragi flour with water for 1/2 hour.
Grind Ragi with coconut and strain.
Discard the pulp.Add milk to the ragi Mixture.
Stir in the jaggery till it dissolves completely.
Put it on the stove on a low heat and keep stirring.
Within 5 minutes,the mixture would have thickened.
Add the cardamom powder to it and keep stirring.
Continue till the mixture reaches a semi solid consistency.
Add a teaspoon of ghee and keep stirring.
Now remove from fire and transfer into a greased plate.
Cut into Desired shapes and garnish with almonds when cool.
