Rava Kesari

It was my Brother birthday.on his every birthday my mom used to Prepare this sweet Dessert.This time i tried it with some fresh fruits.everyone loved including my mom..


Semolina / Rava - 1/2 cup
Sugar - 1 cup
Ghee - 1 Tbsp
Raisins & Cashews - 3 tbsp
Cardamom Powder - 1/4 Tsp
food colour - few drops(Orange)


Dry fry the semolina on low flame and Keep aside.Boil a cup of water in a wok,Add sugar, cardamom powder,food color and stir till the sugar completely melts. Then turn down the stove to low and add semolina. Stir the mixture well so that there are no lumps.Cook till the semolina is done.

Heat ghee in a small pan and add cashews and raisins.Toast them till cashews turn golden brown and raisins turn plump.Add cardamom Powder and garnish with cashews and raisins to the Rava Kesari /sheera and mix well.Serve warm.
