korivi karam


Korivi karam is a kinda pickle,which lasts for one month.it tastes very delicious with ghee...it wont be that spicy as we think.my aunt makes this very well.



Ingredients:

Ripe red chillies - 1/2 kg
Salt - 250 grams
Tamarind - 125 grams
Turmeric powder - 1 tsp
Fenugreek seeds - 1 tsp
Groundnut Oil - 200 ml
Asafoetida - 1 tsp

Method:

Wash and dry the fresh red chillies thoroughly
Grind the red chillies, salt, tamarind, and turmeric powder to a coarse paste.Roast and powder the fenugreek seeds.Heat the oil to medium heat and add the asafoetida.Cool and add to the ground red chillies mixture.
Finally add the fenugreek powder and mix thoroughly.
Store in an airtight jar.
