Aval Payasam

My flaked Rice payasam (Aval payasam) is published in popular tamil magazine "Rani weekly" in the year 2000...




Ingredients for Aval Payasam:-

Flaked rice / Aval - 100 gms
Milk - 1/2 Litre
Saffron - 1/2 Tsp
Badam - 20 gms
Kismis - 15 gms
Sugar - 100 gms

Cardamom - 1/2 Tsp

Method:-
Clean and wash aval in water.soak Aval for 5 minutes in Milk.In the meanwhile boil milk in a pan.add soaked aval in the boiling milk.cook aval till it becomes soft.then simmer the stove and stir in sugar.then mix saffron in hot milk and add to the boiling payasam.garnish with cardamom,badam and kismis and serve hot or cool....
