Today iam going to post a superb recipe of a Everybody's favourite chicken Blogadda contest...
In olden days people used to cook on firewood stove so that while cooking on that stove the curry absorbs the firewood smoke that enhances the flavour of the dish.But now a days we dont have that type of stove.so here is a modern way of cooking with a smokey touch...now hope you all got it why it is named as smoked chicken...yup you guessed it right...iam going to cook chicken with a smokey touch...
Now the question is How?How?How???
how can we give a smokey touch to a chicken curry???any guesses???ok ok...i will reveal the secret at the end...so keep your fingers crossed...
Ingredients
chicken - 1 cup
ginger garlic paste - 2 tbsp
Green chillies- 4
curd - 1/2 cup
lemon - 1
coriander leaves - handful
onion paste - 1 cup
coconut powder - 2 tbsp
coriander powder - 2 tbsp
curry leaves - 2 sprigs
turmeric powder - 1 tsp
salt to taste
Red chilli powder - 2 tbsp
Fortune Rice bran oil - 5 tbsp
ghee - 2 tbsp
charcoal briquette(cooking charcoal) - 1 piece
method:
Marinate the chicken with some salt,red chilli powder,turmeric,ginger garlic paste,curd,lemon juice,green chillies,coriander.marinate it for an hour.take a pan and heat 5 to 6 sppons of fortune rice brain oil.add 2 teasppons of ghee.then add curry leaves and green chillies.saute well and add it to the marinated chicken.now fry onion paste in the same oil.then add giner garlic paste and salt and cook for 5 minutes.now stir in marinated chicken in it and cook for 10 mins.add coconut coriander powder.now close the lid and let it shimmer.meanwhile light another stove and light up the charcoal briquette(cooking charcoal)take the hot charcoal into a metal plate and then place it on the chicken curry.pour little ghee on the charcoal and close the lid to have the chicken smoked.after 5 mins take out the charcoal plate and serve the yummy tasty smoked chicken...
